At St Paul’s Moss Vale, our dedicated team of professional teachers and support staff is passionately committed to unlocking the unique potential of every child in our care. Guided directly by the CEDOW Faith, Learning & Wellbeing Framework, we design rigorous, evidence-based daily learning experiences that meet students at their individual point of development. By focusing on core learning areas like Writing, Mathematics, Religion, and Inquiry, we challenge and support our students to become confident, self-reflective, and lifelong learners.

To ensure every child thrives, we offer a rich mix of modelled, guided, and independent learning options tailored to diverse needs. A key highlight of our academic offering is our enhanced STEM and Mathematics program. Through interactive Mathematics Launch Tasks and hands-on robotics, we actively encourage critical thinking, innovative problem-solving, and the healthy risk-taking essential for growth.

To bring this vision to life, we embed several system-backed initiatives into our daily practice:

• Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L): Anchored in our four school rules—Respect Myself, Respect Others, Respect Learning, and Respect the Environment—this proactive framework defines clear behavioural and relational expectations. It allows us to publicly acknowledge and reward students for positive citizenship and pro-social behaviours.

• A Supportive Transition & Buddy System: Guided by the diocese's emphasis on inclusivity and connection, we run a Transition to Kindergarten playgroup program each year. To ensure a smooth, safe start to school life, every incoming student is paired with a Year 6 'Buddy' who mentors and supports them throughout the entire year.

• Student-Led Service & Wellbeing: Following the CEDOW Life to the Full Framework, we explicitly teach emotional resilience and personal responsibility. Our Year 6 students put these principles into action by taking on vital leadership roles, giving authentic service back to our school community.

St Paul’s is a welcoming and inclusive community. While we have strong ties to the wider community and a rich history, we welcome many new families from many backgrounds and cultures to our school. We are proud of our diversity.

We enjoy a close relationship with our parish, participating in parish liturgies and events. Our Parents and Friends (P&F) Association works closely with the school to host events, working bees and to raise money to support the children’s learning resources.

At St Paul’s Moss Vale, we see digital technology as a powerful vehicle for discovery, critical thinking, and collaboration. Our goal is to empower students to become active, responsible, and discerning digital citizens rather than passive consumers. By seamlessly integrating Information, Communication, and Learning Technologies (ICLT) into daily classroom practice, we enhance student learning while fostering the vital critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed for the modern world.

To support this vision, St Paul’s operates a structured 1:1 iPad Program for students in Years 3 to 6. Funded via a standard parental technology fee, these devices are comprehensively managed by the school to regulate screen time both in the classroom and at home, ensuring all applications remain safe and age-appropriate. For our younger K–2 learners, we maintain a shared fleet of school iPads, allowing them to engage safely with technology during specific, targeted learning tasks.

True to our Parent-School Partnership Framework, we believe that managing a child's digital footprint is a shared journey between home and school. Grounded in our core values of respect and personal responsibility, this balanced approach to technology ensures that our students enjoy a safe, supportive environment where they can confidently create, connect, and flourish.

At St Paul’s Moss Vale, we believe that as people of faith, we are called to actively build a just, kind, and compassionate world. Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching and our school rules—Respect Myself, Respect Others, Respect Learning, and Respect the Environment—we empower our students to be active agents of change. Through meaningful social justice and environmental stewardship initiatives, our children learn first-hand that their actions can make a profound difference.

Our commitment to caring for our common home is lived out daily. Our student-led environment group actively tends to our school vegetable gardens and chickens, while driving hands-on recycling and waste-reduction initiatives. 

Beyond environmental care, we foster deep social awareness through our active Mini Vinnies group and community outreach. In working together, we inspire our children to live out our school motto—“All to all in faith and learning”—by generously serving others and protecting the world around them.

At St Paul's, we strive to keep fees as low as possible so that more families can choose a Catholic education for their children.

In keeping with Gospel values, no child is refused a Catholic education at our school due to financial inability or difficulty.

New or existing parents who find themselves in this situation are encouraged to discuss fee concessions with our school principal, who will treat the situation with understanding, sensitivity and confidentiality. It is the expectation that families with the capacity to contribute do so, so that our schools can maintain the high quality of education that Catholic education is known for and our families expect.
